Commissions – How to?

It’s really easy to commission a custom portrait.  Just follow these few simple steps:-

  • I need to see and approve your photographs before I can accept a commission.  I cannot stress highly enough that “I can only draw what I can see!” – so that is why it is so important that you provide the highest quality photos with nice, clear details and good colours.  Please send me as many photos as you can – I can use them to capture all of the finest details and ensure that the colours are as accurate as possible too.
  •  Once I have approved your photographs we can then discuss your portrait requirements ie.  what size portrait you would like, what medium you would like (graphite, pastel or coloured pencil).
  •  I also need to know if you have a specific deadline for your portrait.  I will do my best to accommodate your date wherever possible, but I do deal with commissions on a first-come-first-served basis.  So if we don’t have time to complete the commission in time for a particular date, then you could always choose the option of a Gift Certificate instead.
  • I require a 30% non-refundable deposit in order to confirm your commission and add you onto my confirmed “To Do” List!  I accept payment by Bank Transfer or via PayPal.
  • I normally post all portrait progress on my FaceBook pages, unless we agree prior to keep the portrait as a surprise until after a certain date!  I will let you know when I’m starting your portrait and when I’ve finished the portrait I will send a preview to you by email so you can review it and let me know if any changes or alterations are required.
  • Once you are happy with the portrait I will send you an invoice for the balance.  Your final portrait will be packaged and posted to you after the payment has cleared.
