This little character is " Midge ".

She was a commission piece that was completed in November 2006. She was drawn using Graphite pencils on white Fabriano paper.

This portrait has quite a sad story behind it, because after the reference photographs were taken for this portrait, Midge was kicked in the face by one of her owner's foals. Unfortunately vets were unable to save one of her eyes and it had to be removed. Fortunately her character has not been affected in anyway and she is adapting well to life with one eye.
